The fun begins as you step into Belize Zoo's lush 84 acre tropical savanna and discover its unique history. Founded in 1983 as a way to house animals used in documentary films, this national zoo is a popular Belize excursion and has over 150 animals - many of them orphaned, rescued, rehabilitated or received by other zoological institutions.
